Karthik Calling Karthik is the latest movie by Farhan Akhtar that also includes the Om Shanti Om fame Deepika Padukone in the lead role. The title of the movie is itself very intriguing and is getting a lot of attention from the media and people who are desperate to watch this movie when it opens for the public. Like always the music of this movie is composed by the trio Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy which is very different from regular Bollywood numbers. Tracks like Hey Ya have a nice foot tapping rhythm to it and if you want to blast yourself into a groovy number than you should listen to Uff Teri Ada where Alyssa Mendonsa, daughter of Loy Mendonsa (from Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy group) lends her voice to the hindi music industry for the very first time.

The movie is all about a guy name Karthik who is shy and introvert and falls in love with his bold and optimistic colleague Shonali (Deepika), but because of his reserved nature he is unable to express his feelings and takes help from someone who is also called as Karthik. Apart from Farhan Akhtar and Deepika, the movie also revolves around Boman Irani and Omi Vaidya whom we all remember for his funny dialogue delivery as Chatur in 3 Idiots. As per the director Vijay Lalwani the movie is said to be a psychological thriller where a man receives a call from himself which is a very unique subject and surely that would drag a lot of curious-minded people to the multiplexes nearby. The movie was said to be out in theatres in 2009 itself but got postponed due to a lot of post-production work that was left incomplete, but the wait is almost over as the movie will be released on 26th Feb, 2010.
